Cal·Mag Citrate with D 1:1

Product Summary:

Calcium, Magnesium and vitamin D are nutrients known to help build and maintain bones. The citrate form of calcium is easier to digest and less likely to cause stomach upset in those who have trouble with calcium carbonate. Calcium citrate has also a lower risk of contributing to the formation of kidney stones. That is why we have chosen the citrate minerals for this formula. The 1:1 ratio is especially good for those who feel they get a fair amount of calcium in their diet but want to have 'bone insurance'.

As much as 50% of the body’s magnesium is found in the bones, pointing to the importance of magnesium for bone health. While calcium is the central mineral in bone mineralization or calcification, the quality of the calcium crystals formed is largely dependent on magnesium. When too little magnesium is available, the calcium crystals are weaker, permitting fractures to occur, even when you consume the recommended amount of daily calcium. When magnesium is supplied with calcium the bones become stronger.

Vitamin D facilitates calcium absorption from the intestinal tract. A consistent deficiency of vitamin D leads to a condition of inadequate calcification referred to as osteomalacia or “soft bones”. In winter months, or if you lack exposure to sunshine, you may be at risk of developing a vitamin D deficiency.
